FOUNDING SPONSOR

Empowering women. Advancing change.
OUR MISSION
The Give Care Back Initiative exists to raise awareness about caregiver challenges and deliver vital wellness resources — exercise, nutrition, and personal development — to the women who need them most.
Give Care Back is built on our signature Healthy Women Rock program. Through the generous support of our sponsors and donors, we are able to offer this transformational experience affordably — making it accessible to the caregivers who need it most.
Does this sound familiar
You don't think of yourself
as a caregiver.
You think of yourself as a devoted wife. A loving daughter. A loyal friend. A dependable colleague.
You show up. You manage. You hold things together.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that showing up — you stopped showing up for yourself. Not all at once. Through a thousand small surrenders, so gradual you didn't notice until one day you looked up and couldn't remember the last time you did something just because you wanted to.
That is what caregiving does. And most people never give it that name.
"53 million Americans are unpaid family caregivers. Most of them never see themselves in that word — and that invisibility is exactly where the damage begins."
If you have cared for a spouse, a parent, a child, or a friend through illness, decline, or crisis — your body kept score. Your identity quietly contracted. Your health became the thing you'd get to eventually.
This program exists because eventually is now.
Before I knew the word caregiver, I experienced the consequences of self-neglect.
My soft spoken mother, Gertie, was a chronic asthmatic who carried the weight of providing for our family while managing her health silently — never asking for help, never letting on how serious things had become.
Mama, was alone when she died. A sudden heart attack, at 42. I didn't know she had a heart condition. Neither did anyone else. I discovered the hospital paperwork in a drawer while going through her things — she had been told she needed to be admitted, but she hadn't told a soul.

When I found her, she had collapsed on the edge of her bed. Her eyes were still open. I sat beside her for a long time. I was only 16. Eventually, I placed my hand over her eyes to close them. I have never forgotten that moment.
Looking back, I often wonder what might have been different if there had been more support for women like my mother. Give Care Back is my answer to that question. It is personal. It is an opportunity to make a difference for someone else — before it's too late.
What most people don't know
The losses no one warned you about
Identity
Caregivers lose their sense of self so gradually they don't notice until it's gone. By the time caregiving ends, many don't know who they are or what they want. The person they were before — their ambitions, their friendships, their sense of possibility — has disappeared through a thousand small surrenders.
Physical Health
Caregivers experience significantly higher rates of depression, anxiety, weight gain, hypertension, and chronic illness. They delay their own medical care and skip their own medications. Researchers have a phrase for what happens when this goes unaddressed: "the caregiver dies first."
Financial Security
The average family caregiver loses $300,000+ in lifetime wages, Social Security benefits, and retirement savings — most without realizing the accumulation until it's too late. Without the vocabulary of caregiving, these losses go untracked, undocumented, and unrecovered.
You didn't cause any of this. But you can change what happens next.
